Technical Scientific Library(TSL)was founded in  1969 based on Informational National Institute’s backround reference,it was forming in time like specialized national library institute with important collections of technical-scientific documents.

Stages of developing:

• 1969-1990-library was working and  was developing centralized,filling its collections with documents around the world.(20 countries and 2 International Organisations)
• 1990-1994 -TSL moved to the new funding terms.Collaboration ,exchange of documents with Romanian,Bulgary,Germany and Italy was based.
• 1991-was implemented automatic system”MARC” and it was starting the elaboration of Electronic Catalogue.
• 1998-1999  -the stage of modernization and automation of informational library’s activity thanks to the Grant offered by SOROS foundation.
• 2000-according to order nr.44  of Ministry of Economy,library passed in economic management  of the Informational and Economical National Institute(IENI).
• 2006- following the reorganization of the SAM and IENI’s Economical Research Institute and according to Government Decision nr.1326 from December 14,2005”Regarding the measures to optimize the infrastructure of science and innovation”the TSL passed in management of Statistical Economical Financial Institute,founded after this reorganization.
